Choir Sing-Off raises over £3,000 for Wales Air Ambulance

Our Charity Choir Sing-Off raised over £3,000 for Wales Air Ambulance!

Our annual Charity Choir Sing-Off, was held at the Brewery in June, and we’re pleased to announce that with your help we raised an amazing £3412.78 for the Wales Air Ambulance charity.

We hosted our annual fundraiser on Saturday 24th June with six local choirs in attendance. The choir sing-off has gained a reputation for being a fun & lively community event and this year was no different. Six choirs were invited to take part and asked to perform two songs in front of an audience and judging panel. The whole evening was compered by stand-up comedian Steffan Evans, who gave his time free of charge to support the fundraising.

The choirs were encouraged to have fun with their songs and the audience was thoroughly entertained by all choirs that took part. The Decibelles, Bois Y Felin, Llangwm Village Voices, Cor Cardi Gan, Cor dsygu Cymraeg Sir Benfro and Choirs For Good Haverfordwest all took to the stage and sang their hearts out in the name of charity.

The Decibelles choir were crowned “Bluestone Brewing Co Choir of the Year” and took home the coveted trophy after a roaring rendition of The Greatest Show (from The Greatest Showman).

The £3412.78 was raised through ticket sales, bar profits, donation buckets and a donation from Cegin Cwm Gwaun who catered the event. We have now raised over £15,000 for the Wales Air Ambulance Charity over the last 10 years.

The Wales Air Ambulance needs to raise more than £8 million every year to keep its helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road. Hannah Bartlett, Wales Air Ambulance Community Fundraiser, said: “Thank you to Bluestone Brewing Company for holding yet another successful choir sing-off event and for raising more than £3,000 for the Wales Air Ambulance. Your support over the years has not gone unrecognised.

“Our Charity truly appreciates the £15,000 that you have donated over the last 10 years. With your support we can continue to serve the people of Wales when they need us most, by air or by road. Thank you so much for your continued loyalty and support.”
