New community run events project to launch at the Brewery

Carningli Nights Out intend to bring high quality performers to the heart of rural West Wales, looking to provide some much-needed entertainment out of the tourist season for the local community.

Carningli Nights Out was formed by a group of Cilgwyn residents, with the support of the Bluestone Brewing Company, whose venue they will use. Their events will make use of the Night Out Scheme, an Arts Council of Wales project which works in partnership with local authorities to help groups of volunteers across Wales bring the arts to non-traditional venues.
The Cilgwyn valley comprises just 40 or so homes tucked away behind the town of Newport. Members of the group felt that, although there is a great variety of entertainment available through the summer months, there is still a need for quality entertainment for local residents during the colder, darker evenings and this led to the formation of Carningli Nights Out. Many of the members are music enthusiasts, and all plan to bring their own suggestions of acts they’d like to see perform in Cilgwyn.

Bluestone’s reputation as a venue is growing year on year. Ambitious programming has brought a unique variety of world class acts to this corner of Wales during the summer season. Carningli Nights Out plans to work alongside Bluestone Brewing Company to increase the number & diversity of events offered each year.

Carningli Nights out will launch on St David’s Day, March 1st 2019, with an intimate gig in the brewery taproom featuring the wonderful Bella Collins & Gareth Evans.

In the brief time since forming Bella and Gareth have proved to be a great meeting of musical minds and have literally gone from strength to strength. They’re becoming a much talked about and sought after acoustic duo not just locally in Cardiff but are rapidly gaining a reputation racking up gigs all across south and west Wales. Some of their stand out gigs to date include playing to packed out audiences at events such as the Brecon jazz festival and the Tenby blues festival. Following Gareth’s endorsement with ‘Newtone strings’ in the summer of last year, they are now both playing as endorsees. Their live sets incorporate a mix of popular contemporary songs, timeless classics and original works in a variety of genres including jazz, blues, funk, rock n roll, reggae and ska. whether they’re blowing the roof off a venue or playing so delicately quiet you can hear a hear a pin drop be sure to see them play soon.

Due to the size of the venue, tickets are likely to sell out fast. They are now available to buy here.
